The MRI scan facility is currently in functioning and , 1012 scans performed in year 2021. This is a great service to the patients in Uva province. The transfer of patients to Colombo and Kandy hospitals for these scans has been stopped completely and all the inconveniences to the patients have been avoided.
Provincial General Hospital was Conducted Covid Shield Vaccination clinic for Hospital Staff, and Community. This programme was started on 31st January 2021 in NTS Premises and presently continued this service at vaccination clinic.
New PCR laboratory opening on 11th May 2020 in Provincial General Hospital, Badulla to test samples from COVID suspected patients in Uva province, CCP Uva Province, Vice Chancellor in University of Uva Wellassa and Hospital Director with Consultants and Hospital Staff attend this special Event.

UNFA American Representative Ms. Ritsu Naken and South Africa High Commissioner of UNFA Mrs Robina Marks visit to Mithuru Piyasa in Provincial General Hospital, Badulla. A disaster management rehearsal organized by the Disaster Management Unit of the Badulla General Hospital was held on 27th November 2018. Badulla District Secretariat Emergency Management Unit Badulla District Secretariat Badulla Municipal Council assisted with several state institutions including Sri Lanka Police, Army and Air Force and discussed the manner in which the other institution including the general hospital was in a situation of disaster.
